The Haunting of Sunshine Girl: Book One - Paige McKenzie, Alyssa B. Sheinmel

The end of this brilliantly written novel has some parts to it that were predictable and some that weren't. In the end you know that sunshine would save her mom and everything would go back to normal, but the way the storyline played out there was no clear way to know exactly what would happen next. I was on the edge of my seat trying to put the different components together, some I could, some I could not. It gave me just enough information to keep me interested, but not enough information to make scene and put together the whole thing, leaving me walking blindly through the compelling storyline.

The Circuit: Stories from the Life of a Migrant Child - Francisco Jimenez

From the book called The circuit I learned a lot from another person's perspective, from immigration to working on the farm. Several times in the book we see the main character, Panchito, who has a father who worked hard long hours in the field. His back started to hurt and it only got worse, from bending over for 12 hours a day his back started to fail he was then unable to work any more. This shows that working in a field is hard work.

The main character Panchito reminded me of my Mom when she was little. Her parents were in the military so they moved a lot, just like Panchito and his family.

When I first started reading the book I found it was interesting, but as I got further into the book the more intrigued I was. The plot was perfect and the dialogue was exceptional and the characters fell into place, making this book one of the best I have read.
